Our Committees

ADVOCACY

The Advocacy Committee leads all organizational efforts to increase civic knowledge, participation, and activism. Committee activities include voter registration drives, poll worker drives, canvassing, debate watch parties, and the election-year Super Saturday seminar.

COMMUNICATIONS

The Communications Committee manages all communications, including the ULGA-YP website, e-newsletter, social media properties, media relations, and regular e-mail updates to members and partners.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Community Service Committee plans events to engage members and the general public to promote service throughout the metro Atlanta area.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

The Economic Empowerment Committee coordinates financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and community economic empowerment programs designed to meet the needs of our members and local community, including planning and coordinating the annual National Day of Empowerment event to be held in the fall as directed by NULYP.

INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY

The Innovation & Technology Committee supports the overall operation of the organization with technology, helping the organization to optimize and automate aspects of member services, event planning & execution, and data management.

MEMBERSHIP

The Membership Committee organizes all efforts to attract and retain members, including New Member Orientation mixers and attendance at events where the young professional demographic is present.

Partnerships & Community Impact

The Fund Development Committee leads organizational efforts to develop the financial capacity of ULGA-YP, through corporate sponsorship, individual giving and in-kind donations.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Personal and Professional Development Committee plans and organizes speakers and activities for career development workshops and other endeavors to facilitate the development of the professional networks and leadership skills among young professionals.

SOCIAL & CULTURAL

The Social and Cultural Committee coordinates regular activities for member participation. The committee actively seeks venues in the metro Atlanta area and beyond that speak to the tastes of our membership, for parties, networking mixers, excursions, and other activities.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Special Events Committee plans & organizes two signature fundraising event from start to finish, this includes the planning and coordination, budget management, team leadership and vendor management. Events to note: Holiday Social & Dream Catchers
