The Urban League of Greater Atlanta – Young Professionals (ULGA-YP), an affiliate support group of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, is proud to announce Devin M. Young and Darion Hall as the Member of the Quarter and YPeer of the Quarter, respectively.

A transplant from North Carolina, Devin Young joined ULGA-YP in April 2016 and immediately began supporting the organization using his expertise in communications and public relations. Through his dynamic collection of skills, which range from graphic design to communications strategy, Devin helps to raise the organization’s profile in metro Atlanta. His work includes creating the 2016 voter toolkit, co-leading the website redesign, and establishing the new ULGA-YP brand identity guidelines. Devin received the Member of the Quarter award for his work producing materials for the 2017 Join Week campaign.

“The Urban League is actively working to solve issues that are impacting our community,” says Devin. “Using my skills to empower the league and inform the community of its good work is the least I can do,” he adds.

A graduate of Tennessee State University, Darion Hall is a software developer with an infectious, friendly personality. As a YP Ambassador, Darion helps represent ULGA-YP in the community and makes new members feel welcome within the organization. When he is not integrating people into the YP family, Darion is an advocate for inclusion and diversity in the tech community and actively recruits minority students and professionals to pursue careers in the industry. Darion earned the YPeer of the Quarter award for creating inviting, engaging experiences for potential members.

“Since joining YP, the Urban League has become my home away from home,” says Darion. “The league has helped me to develop a sense of purpose through my service, and I want others to experience that feeling.”

Shalondan Hollingshed, president of ULGA-YP, shared her appreciation for Devin’s and Darion’s continuous commitment to the organization during the February General Body Meeting. “Because of committed members like Devin and Darion, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta can more actively engage and empower our communities.”

ULGA-YP’s next event, The State of Young A.T.L. will be April 2, 2018, at Tech Square Labs. For more information about upcoming events, please visit http://www.ulga-yp.org.
